Synastry
Synastry is the comparison of two natal charts to read relationships, compatibility, and mutual activation of planets and houses.
How to read it in a chart
Synastry is useful only inside the whole chart. In astrology, everything is read through connections: each natal chart matters on its own, and the relationship layer is read through aspects, house overlays, and repeated themes.
When you meet this term in a reading, ask three questions: what each person brings individually, which contacts are strongest between the charts, and which relationship theme is being activated.
Common mistake
A beginner mistake is to use synastry as a verdict: compatible or incompatible. Better synastry asks where connection is easy, where friction appears, and what kind of agreement helps.
Use this definition as an entry point into the chart, not as the whole reading.
